Busy scene in Belmont yard with the freight handling yard now in place. The area between the tracks was covered in 2mm card, with layers of finely seived grey and red bassalt rock spread over, all stuck down with acrylic matt medium.
The Model AA truck is by Tjins Toys of China, the figures from The Model Company range.
The background buildings are modelled after buildings in Auckland NZ. Most are built from DPM modules with dolls house 1/12th scale mouldings for the fancy bits. The cinema is scratch built from 3mm mdf.
The shed is from a standard NZ Railways plan, published by the NZ Model Railway Guild, and is built from weatherboard sheet by Paul Woods of NZ over mdf. The roof is Slaters corrugated styrene with roof nails impressed with a Model Company rivetting machine.
The crane is by Crow River Products, modified for hand operation, the vehicles by Matchbox (still to be repainted and weathered).
